Study courses: Bachelor and Master

The Technische Hochschule Nürnberg offers a plethora of modules dealing with water , i.a. cross-faculty ones, 8 of which are offered by the Labor für Wasserbau. These modules are available from the 2nd semester in the bachelor course up to the 10th semester at the end of a master course. In lectures and practical courses on fluid mechanics, numerical modelling methods in water management, hydraulic engineering, flood prevention, water resources management in developing countries and construction of hydroelectric plants, students are acquainted with the entire range of the topic water. This curriculum is integrated into the sessions at the university dealing with the issues drinking water supply, wastewater treatment, pipeline construction and restoration, water quality and water chemistry.

The „Labor für Wasserbau der Georg-Simon-Ohm Hochschule Nürnberg“ was founded more than 40 years ago. It trains engineers in all areas of water management, consults municipalities, authorities and companies and does application-oriented research in water management and fluid mechanics. The laboratory is provided with modern equipment, offering the entire range of examination options for metering in the field, laboratory studies and numerical model examinations, on a total area of 250 m².
